Honda recently joined the fray with its ZR-V, underscoring the competitive landscape of compact crossovers tailored for city life. Now, Mitsubishi is poised to elevate this trend with the upcoming ASX 2023, promising a blend of sleek design and practicality that will captivate enthusiasts worldwide.
Japanese media reports suggest meticulous preparation behind the scenes, hinting at advanced features and innovations set to redefine the driving experience. As anticipation builds, the ASX 2023/RVR promises to carve out its niche in the automotive market, offering drivers a compelling choice in the realm of urban mobility.
The Mitsubishi ASX is Mitsubishi’s most compact crossover. It has been on the market for 12 years, having appeared in 2010.
The car has undergone a slight restyling, but no one expected the manufacturer to release its new generation.
Anyway, the European division of Mitsubishi announced that the novelty will be presented in autumn of this year and it will appear on the market in 2023. The same is expected for the RVR on Japanese market.
It is already known that the new ASX will take full advantage of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance, and it is also reported that the novelty will be related to the French Captur.
Based on previously presented teasers, an independent designer has shown on renders how the new generation ASX based on the Captur could look.
The renders show the compact car with the headlights of the current Captur, which are dominated by C-shaped LED headlights.
Side profile is almost the same as the «Frenchman» but the model has a different grille, plastic body cladding, sliding plate on the front bumper and more.
Dimensions of the actual Captur is 4230/1795/1590 mm, this length, width, and height, respectively, the body of the new ASX will be about the same.
According to preliminary data, the engine lineup of the updated model will include a 1.3-liter turbo-engine from the Captur.
Besides, probably, there will be PHEV unit based on a 1.6-liter «atmospheric engine». That’s all the available information about the ASX of the new generation.
