Olympic Basketball 2024 will take place from July 27 to August 11 in two different locations. Group stage matches will be held at the Pierre Mauroy stadium (Lille). Then the semi-finals and finals will take place at Accor Arena, Paris, France.
The American basketball team will embark on the journey to defend the gold medal with an all-star squad from the NBA. However, they will face stiff competition from 11 other countries, including many strong candidates such as Australia, Spain, Serbia or the home team France.
The group stage of the 5×5 men’s basketball event will be played from July 27 to August 4. Then the knockout round will take place from August 6 to August 11. The specific match schedule is as follows:

COMPETITION FORMAT
In the group stage, 12 teams will be divided into 3 groups (A, B, C), each group has 4 teams. Teams compete in a round robin, scoring and ranking.
The first and second place teams in each group will advance to the knock-out round. Besides, the 2 3rd place teams with the best records will continue.
After determining the 8 teams that pass the group stage, the Organizing Committee will base on index and achievements to classify these 8 teams into 4 groups.
Specifically, group D (2 best performing teams), group E (teams ranked 3rd and 4th), group F (teams ranked 5th and 6th), group G (teams ranked 7th and 8th). From here, the organizers will draw lots to divide the semi-final matches as follows:
_ Quarterfinals 1: D1 vs G1
_ Quarterfinal 2: F1 vs E1
_ Quarterfinal 3: E2 vs F2
_ Quarterfinals 4: D2 vs G2
In the semi-finals (taking place on the evening of August 8, early morning of August 9), the winner of match TK1 will meet the winner of match TK2, the winner of match TK3 will meet the winner of match TK4.
This division means that the two teams with the best overall record in the group stage will not meet in the quarterfinals and semi-finals.
