On Friday (August 9), hundreds of fans of the country singer gathered on the streets of Vienna, humming Taylor Swift songs.
Earlier, Barracuda Music, the concert organizer, canceled Swift’s August 8-10 performances at the 65,000-seat Ernst Happel Stadium after authorities discovered a terrorist plot targeting the venue. Ticket holders will be refunded within the next 10 days, according to Skiff , one of the world’s leading travel news channels.
The size of the crowd attracted widespread media attention.
Norbert Kettner, CEO of the Austrian Tourist Board, said the country had shown its resilience in tourism when Swifties turned tour cancellations into a “celebration” on the streets, creating a global buzz.

To help fans shake off the disappointment of not being able to attend their idol’s concert, Austria is offering free admission to museums, free meals at a local burger chain and some “consolation” gifts, a representative of the Austrian Tourist Board said.
“Vienna is doing everything possible to ensure the thousands of Swifties who came to our city still had an unforgettable weekend. Austria would like to thank Taylor Swift fans for their community solidarity,” Kettner said.
Tour stops saw a big increase in bookings around concert dates. According to ForwardKeys, a travel database company based in Valencia, Spain, online bookings on several travel websites in Warsaw, Poland’s capital, increased by 203%, London by 45%, and Stockholm, Sweden, by 136% compared to last year, on Swift’s concert dates.
Taylor Swift’s next stop is London, England, for five concerts from August 15-20. Eras Tours began in March 2023 and will conclude in December of this year. The tour has more than 150 shows and spans five continents.
