Taylor Swift made history with her Eras tour, breaking box office records and attracting millions of fans.
Millions of fans, a record-breaking artist, nearly 150 sold-out shows, and a rotating wardrobe featuring 11 designers: These are the ingredients that make Taylor Swift’s famous tour a success.
Taylor Swift has made it onto Forbes’ list of the world’s richest billionaires, and she’s different from other wealthy artists in the way she makes money and amasses her huge fortune. At the end of 2023, Forbes declared the singer a billionaire, and her fortune is now estimated at $1.3 billion (as of August 21).
Forbes calls this a rare feat, as Taylor Swift is the first musician/singer to achieve this important milestone through songwriting and performing alone. While many entertainers become billionaires through launching their own beauty brands, fashion lines or real estate investments. Swift’s revenue mainly comes from music copyright profits, album sales, concerts and related accessories.
By the time the Eras tour was more than halfway through its run, it had become the highest-grossing concert series of all time, with more than $1 billion in revenue from more than 4 million tickets sold worldwide. Swift’s success has become so great that she’s not just a musical superstar but also a powerful economic force, with her concerts generating more than $5 billion for the local economy, according to the U.S. Travel Association.
Performing a musical collection spanning 18 years, Taylor Swift’s three-and-a-half-hour set may have been a sonic mash-up, but it was consistently glitzy: a Zuhair Murad bodysuit (the latest released in London featured over 10,000 beads), an Ashish sequin T-shirt and a Roberto Cavalli crystal skirt and bustier, to name a few. Over the past year, fans have responded enthusiastically to her energy, arriving to shows brimming with sequins, crystals and glitter.
But it wasn’t all glitter on stage. Taylor Swift wore everything from military jackets to Alberta Ferretti diaphanous dresses and chic Nicole + Felicia ballgowns, plus there were a few surprises from her support team, which included Florence Welch, Suki Waterhouse, Hayley Williams and Sabrina Carpenter.
To mark the end of her European tour, CNN has rounded up Swift’s most memorable and beautiful outfits to date.
