During the fourth quarter of the Kansas City Chiefs’ Week 15 clash against the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium, quarterback Patrick Mahomes launched a pass to receiver Kadarius Toney.
Unfortunately, the ball was dropped, leading to an interception by Patriots linebacker Jahlani Tavai. Mahomes’ visible frustration on the sideline quickly became a social media sensation.

Despite the interception and a subsequent four-series drought in the fourth quarter where the Chiefs failed to score, the team ultimately secured a 27-17 victory. However, the defending Super Bowl champions made several errors throughout the game.
Now standing at 9-5, the Chiefs are gearing up for a Week 16 matchup at Arrowhead Stadium against division rivals, the Las Vegas Raiders.
Chiefs Snap Losing Streak in Week 15
The Chiefs managed to break their two-game losing streak by defeating the Patriots on the road in Week 15.
Mahomes completed 27-of-37 pass attempts, accumulating 305 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions. Rookie Rashee Rice emerged as his leading receiver, catching all 9 of his targets for 91 yards and 1 touchdown. Travis Kelce, the season’s leading receiver for Kansas City, caught 5-of-7 targets for 28 yards.
Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, starting in place of Isiah Pacheco, rushed 13 times for 37 yards (2.8 yards per attempt) and also contributed with 4 receptions for 64 yards and 1 touchdown.
Kansas City’s defense had a commendable performance against New England, allowing only 206 yards of total offense, sacking Patriots starting QB Bailey Zappe four times, and securing one turnover through an interception. The Chiefs’ defense dominated on 3rd down, allowing the Patriots to convert on just 2 of their 12 attempts.
Kicker Harrison Butker made 2-of-3 field goal attempts and successfully converted all 3 point-after attempts.
Twitter Reacts to Chiefs’ Week 15 Victory
Users on X, formerly Twitter, expressed their opinions on the Chiefs’ Week 15 victory over the Patriots.
One user suggested, “Cut Toney and make some sacrifices to the gods that Veach gets Mahomes some weapons in the offseason.”
Another user urged, “Mahomes needs to go to the coaches or the GM and say he’s not playing until KT19 is cut from the team, and I’m being 100% serious he should. 19 is going to cost them in the playoffs, just watch.”
Meanwhile, another user criticized, “Not impressed the @Chiefs beat one of the worst teams in the NFL. If they make the playoffs, they won’t make it past the wild card round because they haven’t fixed the offense. Drops, penalties, sacks… they are fortunate they have a defense and the Patriots suck worse.”
One fan lamented, “Can’t imagine the score if it weren’t for penalties and turnovers man. This team has so much potential but we keep shooting ourselves in the foot.”
Another user expressed concern, “Struggle win despite the score. The offensive issues are still there. With little to no improvement from the start of the season. That’s a problem! Fix it @Chiefs. Respect to our Defense for holding strong!”
In a final comment, a fan emphasized, “Yeaaaa kc better find 2 solid wr and replace toney/sky. Kelce needs to retire, and the o tackles are… well, you all know.”
