Taking pictures of adorable dogs is always an endless source of inspiration for animal-loving photographers. Have you ever noticed the moment your pet dog becomes “soaked” after taking a bath?

Photographer Sophie Gamand has brought a series of photos capturing the full range of expressions of dogs after bathing – when their fur is still “soaked wet”.

About 12,000 years ago (during the Stone Age), dogs were the first animals to be domesticated by humans. When they are born, dogs have no teeth. However, after only 4 weeks of age, they have grown 28 teeth. A puppy’s full set of teeth consists of 42 teeth in total.

Have you noticed that dogs have three eyelids? An upper eyelid, a lower eyelid, and a third eyelid in the middle, slightly further back, to protect the eye from dirt.

Many people think that dogs sweat by sticking out their tongues and drooling (even drooling), but in fact dogs sweat from the soles of their feet.

If humans use fingerprints for identification, dogs use nose prints. Breeders use nose prints to store information, and insurance companies consider them a prerequisite for authentication. Paw prints have also been used as a form of “ID,” but they seem less reliable than nose prints.

In winter you sometimes see dogs with their tails tucked up to cover their noses – that’s how they keep warm on cold days.
