Luminate recently released its list of the top 10 best-selling albums in the US in the first half of 2024. The data looks at music trends from earlier this year, including streaming figures, album sales, and album variants.
Not surprisingly, Taylor Swift topped the list with her new album The Tortured Poets Department. The album achieved “huge” sales in the US market alone with 4.66 million units. What’s more surprising is that the star’s two previous albums, 1989 (Taylor’s Version) and Lover , both made it to the top of this list at number 9 and 10.
Two other notable female artists on Luminate’s list are Beyoncé and rising artist SZA. The “Queen Bee” successfully landed at No. 4 with Cowboy Carter, while SZA’s SOS landed at No. 5.
